Many consumer units have adequate capacity and spare ways to accommodate a new 7.4kW charger circuit. If your board is outdated or fully occupied, we outline the requirements and provide a separate quote for updating the consumer unit.
What is the difference between a three-pin lead and a 7.4kW charger?
A standard three-pin plug charges at around 2.3kW, which can take an entire day or night to replenish a vehicle battery. A dedicated 7.4kW home charge point delivers electricity roughly three times faster while operating on an independent circuit.
Where can the charger be mounted?
The charger can be mounted on an exterior brick wall, on an outbuilding, or inside an enclosed garage. We position the unit so the charging cable easily reaches your car's charging port without extending across walkways.
Do you install rapid commercial chargers?
No. Our installation work is focused on domestic properties and single-phase 7.4kW home charge points. Commercial high-output rapid charging systems fall outside our residential work.
Do I need ground excavation for the charging cable?
Most domestic charge point cables run along building walls, through garages, or under flooring. Extensive civil groundworks or trenching across driveways are not part of our electrical service.
